Do I have carpal tunnel syndrome?
Hand numbness and pain affects many people. These symptoms are often attributed to carpal tunnel syndrome. But, carpal
tunnel syndrome is a very specific entity and there are many other causes of hand pain and numbness.

Some of the causes of hand pain and numbness are listed below. Click on any of the conditions listed (and you will be taken to
another page) to learn more about them and how they may be distinguished from carpal tunnel syndrome.

Carpal tunnel syndrome (median nerve irritation at the wrist)
Guyon's canal syndrome (ulnar nerve irritation at the wrist)
Cubital tunnel syndrome (ulnar nerve or "funny bone" irritation at the elbow)
Cervical radiculopathy (pinched nerve in neck)
Peripheral neuropathy and medical conditions (diabetes, alcohol toxicity, etc)
Thumb carpal metacarpal joint osteoarthritis (painful thumb base arthritis)
Shoulder bursitis/tendonitis (common cause of shoulder pain not related to nerve irritation)
DeQuervain's stenosing tenosynovitis (wrist tendonitis)
Thoracic outlet syndrome (nerve compression between the neck and shoulder causing arm pain)
Ulnar artery thrombosis (blood clot in artery causing hand pain and numbness)
Hand and/or wrist sprain (common cause of hand/wrist pain)
Hand Pain/Numbness & Motorcycle Riding (prevention and treatment measures)

Please keep in mind that Qwi Gloves and the Qwi Solution for nerve protection are designed for and proven effective for
protection of the median and ulnar nerves at the hand/wrist (ie, carpal tunnel syndrome and Guyon's canal syndrome). Qwi
Gloves and the Qwi Solution are not effective for prevention or treatment of nerve compression or irritation occurring above the
hand/wrist (eg, cubital tunnel syndrome, thoracic outlet syndrome, etc) or for arthritis pain (eg, thumb carpal metacarpal joint
osteoarthritis). People with those conditions will still benefit from the comfortable feel of Qwi Gloves.
